Just another Big Omaha site

History of BIG Omaha

Over the past few years, Omaha has been emerging as a hub for creativity and innovation. We want to build on this movement by getting innovators, creatives, and entrepreneurs together here in Omaha to think BIG.

Thus, the vision for BIG Omaha: an opportunity to not only think, but act on what is possible here in the heart of the Midwest. We’re here to share stories and connect our community with the rest of the country and make things happen!

What is Silicon Prairie News?

Silicon Prairie News (SPN) started as a simple blog in 2008 by Jeff and Dusty. Its purpose is to highlight the Midwest’s innovators, creative class and entrepreneurs. These groups were, unfortunately, not very well represented in the region.

Through blog posts, articles, and video interviews, SPN gets the word out about the numerous unique and creative businesses, ideas, and individuals who are rocking here in the Midwest.

SPN aims to push the envelope and motivate the masses to connect, collaborate and take it to the next level.
